YOU can enjoy a closer walk with God even through the storms…
October 22, 2014 by Lynne Lee
I wrote it with you in mind. Many people tell me that as a result of reading the book that the Lord called me to write, and putting what they learn into action, they are enjoying a closer walk with God. My prayer is that you will be encouraged and equipped to reach for more, and walk in the fullness of life that Jesus won for you.
God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us. Ephesians 3:20-21 The Message
We know God CAN, we know God is ABLE, but when we are struggling and we’ve asked God to help us and He seems deaf to out pleas we start to wonder. Sometimes at this point our faith gets a bit shaky and we stop standing on what we know.
You haven’t heard from me much lately because I’ve been in the wars. Two of my friends died this year, I fell and cracked some ribs at the end of September and I’m still recovering, still unwell. My husband is still out of work…
It would be so easy to slip into woe is me, but I know from experience that self pity is a slippery slope. Much better when faced face with adversity to pray…
“Father, give us grace not to focus on the pain and discomfort, or on what we’re facing, or what we’ve lost, help us to keep our focus on you and your promises.”
One of the Lord’s many promises…
“My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Our wonderful heavenly daddy has plans to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us a hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

Abraham didn’t focus on his own impotence and say, “It’s hopeless. This hundred-year-old body could never father a child.” Nor did he survey Sarah’s decades of infertility and give up. He didn’t tiptoe around God’s promise asking cautiously skeptical questions.
He plunged into the promise and came up strong, ready for God, sure that God would make good on what he had said. That’s why it is said, “Abraham was declared fit before God by trusting God to set him right.” But it’s not just Abraham; it’s also us!
The same thing gets said about us when we embrace and believe the One who brought Jesus to life when the conditions were equally hopeless. The sacrificed Jesus made us fit for God, set us right with God. Romans 4: 19-25 The Message
All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah! Father of all mercy! God of all healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us. 2 Corinthians 1:2-5 The Message
