How to Be More Fruitful

21 December 2009 5 Comments

Are you working hard yet seeing little fruit?

I have been working hard and the Lord has blessed me. I have seen a lot of fruit but I expected more :)  I knew that working even harder wasn’t the solution so I asked the Lord what I should focus on. I needed to know what to run with and what to let go of, what was simply a good idea and keeping me busy and what was His idea. He said:

“Look at the fruit. Take a look at everything you do and look for the fruit. That is how you will know what has my blessing. Whatever is not bearing fruit in your life needs to be pruned. Are you willing to prune that which is not bearing fruit?

Remember that I said that I will give you rest. Take my yoke and learn from me. My yoke is easy and my burden is light. Let that be your yardstick, when you do you will find release and rest AND you will be more fruitful.

This is simple but ingenious. I’ve always contended that God’s will is one inch in front of my face and fruit is the clearest indication of it.

The genious is all the Lord’s. I’m so glad He talks with us and let’s us share His thoughts. It’as such asimple yardstick.

I know that sometimes fruit takes a while to appear, if in doubt I use the yardstick of peace.

“Come unto Me and I will give you rest, for My yoke is easy and My burden is light” is a verse that has often been a real key for breakthroughs in my life. After years of working hard, I finally understood that it not us working for Him, but it’s Him working through us that bears real fruit!

His Word says: “It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so He giveth his beloved sleep (rest).” (Psalms 127:2)

What we try to do in our own strength seems so futile when compared to the mighty work of His Spirit in us that bears real everlasting fruit!

The Lord gave me those verses in Psalm 127 when he told me to slow down. It was as I was seeking the Lord in a time of extreme busyness that He called me to resurrect a Closer Walk With God, and so this new version of my blog was born

    Hi Lynne,

Thank you for sharing this simple yet profound message. It speaks strongly to my spirit and I will apply what the LORD shared with you.

Blessings for godly discernement to know what to do and what not to do!
