Create One New Habit Each Month And Transform Your Life
Life continues to be challenging and the Lord continues to speak to me through events, His word, my thoughts and other people.
I am humbled by the love and support that has been evident in
- people turning up with freshly cooked meals
- friends popping in at lunch time to make sure I get a hot drink and have lunch
- lifts for my children
- lifts to hospital
- freshly baked cakes
- friends calling in to iron and clean
The list could go on and on.
I am also challenged about how I live my life and what I put on my lips and how I speak of events and my recovery.
Although I have been injured and am very incapacitated this has been a time of great blessing. The Lord is true to His promise and is making sure that I have all I need when I need it.
I took the Lord seriously when He said that He wanted me to use this time to be still and draw closer to Him. I am setting aside time to be still and examine thoughts that come from nowhere. Some of the thoughts are God speaking to me, and some of the thoughts are unhelpful. I am doing as the Lord says and taking thoughts captive, making a conscious decision about whether or not to let them in. I am learning to quickly kick out toxic, negative, doom laden thoughts and replace them with faith filled positive uplifting thoughts that expect and hope for God’s best.
Faith is acting as if it were so when it is not yet so in the physical realm so that it can become so. Therefore I am consciously picturing my body running and skipping and dancing, strong and full of health. I am expecting Shalom – peace and wellness in every area of my life.
What is the Lord highlighting in your life?
Whatever it is, I suggest that you focus on creating one new habit at a time, one month at a time, so that you will be able to focus your energy on creating that one habit and give yourself the best chance to succeed and grow your life. If you focus on one new habit each month you will transform your life this year.
Decide what one thing you will focus on for the remainder of this month and do let me know how you get on.
My friend Dr Randy Peck has an excellent post on creating new habits
